General comments
Ten minste aanvullende diagnostiek naar: Tropheryma whipplei, Bartonella spp., Mycoplasma spp., Legionella spp. en Coxiella burnetii.
Beleid in overleg met arts-microbioloog of internist-infectioloog. Overweeg switch van empirische therapie naar gerichte therapie bij kweek negatieve endocarditis indien de bloedkweken negatief blijven na 72 uur.
Overweeg stop doxycycline wanneer aanvullende diagnostiek voor intracellulaire micro-organismen negatief zijn.
